Straw is the dry stalk residue of cereal crops (such as wheat, rye, barley, or oats) remaining after the grain has been threshed. It is a plant-based material composed mainly of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. Straw contains hollow, relatively coarse fibres arranged in bundles and typically has a yellowish to golden colour.
