viskóza lotos
Lotus viscose is a special type of viscose fiber in which cellulose is obtained from fibers of the lotus flower (Nelumbo nucifera). It is a rare and environmentally sustainable material, with a history mainly rooted in Southeast Asia, where lotus fibers were traditionally used for producing luxury fabrics in ancient times.
Modern textile production manufactures lotus viscose in a similar way to conventional viscose. After harvesting, fibers from lotus stems are extracted, cleaned, and then chemically dissolved into a viscous solution. This solution is forced through fine spinnerets, forming very fine, soft, and drapey fibers with a delicate sheen.
Production is highly labor-intensive because only a small amount of fiber can be obtained from each lotus flower. The resulting material is very airy, lightweight, hypoallergenic, and pleasant to the touch. Due to its exclusivity, lotus viscose is mainly used for luxury scarves, shawls, delicate dresses, and exclusive lingerie, and it stands out for its ecological nature and unique texture.
In the textile industry, it is also valued for its natural antibacterial properties, moisture-wicking ability, and soft matte sheen, which give it a highly refined and luxurious appearance.
