elastická 100% ľanová tkanina
Elastic 100% linen fabric is a unique natural textile material made exclusively from fibers of flax (Linum usitatissimum), where elasticity is achieved through a special weave structure or fiber finishing rather than by adding synthetic yarns. Linen is one of the oldest textile materials in human history, with origins dating back to ancient Egypt, where it was used for clothing, wrappings, and high-quality home textiles. Its production spread throughout Europe as early as antiquity.
Processing begins with harvesting and retting flax stalks, from which long, strong fibers are mechanically extracted. These fibers are then spun into yarn and woven into fabric characterized by strength, breathability, and quick drying. The elasticity comes from specific weave structures such as plain, twill, or specially textured constructions, as well as finishing processes like pressing and softening, which allow slight stretch without the use of elastane.
In textile manufacturing, elastic linen fabric is valued for its high durability, cooling effect, hypoallergenic properties, ecological nature, and easy maintenance. It is used for comfortable clothing, summer dresses, trousers, sports and children’s wear, as well as home textiles and curtains. Its greatest advantage is its natural sustainability and biodegradability.
