Linen fiber
The fiber is obtained from the stem of flax (Linum usitatissimum). It is one of the oldest and highest-quality natural fibers, known for its strength and breathability. The fiber is breathable, hypoallergenic, antistatic, and antibacterial. It has a natural sheen and a characteristic linen appearance. It is used for canvas, tablecloths, towels, bed linen, summer clothing, painting canvases, bookbinding, and technical textiles. The production of linen fiber is more demanding and expensive than cotton production, which is why linen is more costly and less widely used.
