Silk flakes
They are short, irregular pieces of silk fiber that are created as a by-product during the spinning of silk from cocoons of the silkworm (Bombyx mori). Unlike traditional smooth silk filament, these flakes are more matte, less shiny, and have a more rustic appearance. They are soft, breathable, highly absorbent, suitable for people with allergies, and have natural thermoregulatory properties. They contribute to the ecological and full utilization of silk processing, as they are a by-product that would otherwise go unused. Silk flakes are added to wool for felting, incorporated into paper pulp, used to create effects in artistic textiles, or used for decorative purposes.
