Corn fiber Ingeo®
An innovative synthetic fiber made from renewable plant-based sources—specifically sugars derived from corn. It is the result of a biotechnological process in which corn starch is fermented into lactic acid and then polymerised into polylactic acid (PLA). Ingeo combines properties of both natural and synthetic fibres.
It offers excellent performance for sportswear and functional clothing, underwear, bed linen, fillings, nonwoven textiles, and packaging. It is highly breathable, quick-drying, resistant to stains, UV radiation, and pilling. After its service life, it can be composted, meaning it does not burden the environment and does not generate microplastics.
