Pineapple fiber

It is obtained from the leaves of the pineapple plant. It is both a traditional and modern eco-friendly material, widely used in Asia for producing textiles, garments, and accessories. It is very strong and abrasion-resistant and has natural antibacterial properties. Pineapple-based textiles are breathable, quick-drying, colourfast, and wrinkle-resistant. Thanks to its silky sheen, it is used for luxury garments, embroidery, scarves, traditional Filipino clothing (such as the barong tagalog), as well as for producing ecological leather alternatives (such as Piñatex) and fashion accessories.
