Knitted yarn
It is a structured type of yarn in which, instead of twisting multiple strands together in a conventional spin, the fibers are formed through a knitting-like process, often using specialized knitting or braiding machines. The result is a hollow or solid yarn with a structure resembling a miniature knitted fabric.
Knitted yarn is produced by interlacing multiple fine warp threads that are systematically looped together on so-called hollow knitting machines. This method gives the yarn high elasticity, softness, volume, and often a hollow core, which increases bulk without significantly adding weight. By incorporating additional functional filaments (such as elastane, metal, polyester, or wool), it is possible to create special effects or enhance strength, durability, and performance properties of the material.
