Dům pod Jasanem
Dům pod Jasanem is a weaving museum and craft workshop located in Trutnov-Voletiny, in a reconstructed farmhouse. It focuses on the revival of traditional textile crafts — primarily flax processing, spinning, weaving and other older techniques. Visitors can take courses in flax processing: from processing the raw plant, through spinning the thread on a spinning wheel or spindle, to weaving your own linen fabric on a loom — all the material is provided. In addition, Dům pod Jasanem offers a wider program of traditional crafts and folk techniques — working with wool, weaving, felting, weaving, dyeing, hand processing of raw materials, hand-textile making, but also other crafts and art techniques. The museum enables active contact with history – visitors can try working on a spinning wheel and a loom, process a piece of flax, weave a cloth or make a simple string. In addition to courses for the general public, the organization also implements retraining and certified programs — for example, the "Hand processor of textile raw materials" course, which includes the processing of flax, wool, yarn, natural dyeing, business basics, and weaving/spinning techniques. The goal of Dom pod Jasanem is not only to preserve the tradition of textile crafts, but also to make it accessible to the public — in the form of courses, teaching, excursions and an interactive museum. Textiles produced in the workshop — mainly linen fabrics — thus not only illustrate historical techniques, but at the same time offer real, natural and artisan material for those who appreciate traditional processing and authentic origins.
