Zuzana Zmateková

Zuzana Zmateková (1989) is a textile designer, she studied in the Master's program Fashion, Clothing and Textile Design at the Aalto University School of Art, Design and Architecture in Helsinki. While studying at the VŠVU Textile Design Studio in Bratislava (2008 – 2015), she completed other study stays: in the Textile Design Innovation program at Nottingham Trent University and at the Faculty of Textile Design at the Polytechnic in Lodz. He has worked internships in the Volkswagen AG Design Color and Trim department, in the digital textile printing department of the Alexander McQueen fashion house, or in the Italian company for the production of luxury woven fabrics, Clerici Tessuto. As a designer of textile prints, she worked for the French company Mitwill Textiles Europe and the Slovak brand Nehera. In addition to custom creation, he works on his own experimental projects, in which he uses textiles as a communication medium. He is constantly looking for alternative ways to perceive and use textiles. He has been interested in innovative technologies, new media, virtuality and ephemerality for a long time. The result of her research in the field of new media is also the ConTEXt project, which won a special Jury Prize in the National Design Award 2019 – Product Design.
