In the field of textiles, the department focuses on textile design, original creations in home and clothing culture and the preservation of traditional textile technologies (weaving, lacemaking, knitting, embroidery, dyeing, printing). Students learn to design and realize textile works, at the same time they are prepared for teaching practice in primary art schools, secondary vocational schools and in textile courses. The department guarantees both bachelor's and master's programs (e.g. textile production, art production with a focus on education) and closely cooperates with cultural and scientific institutions in ČR and abroad. The department also includes the university Gallery T, where students present their work
