Veba Broumov

VEBA is a traditional Czech manufacturer of jacquard woven cotton fabrics and is one of the most important manufacturers in the world in this segment. VEBA is an innovative company that focuses on the production of clothing and household products. It uses the most modern textile technologies of today and 95% of its exports go mainly to Africa and Europe. The top team of designers gives VEBA products a high aesthetic level that corresponds to current world trends. The history of VEBA follows the rich tradition of textile production in the Broum region from the 13th century. Today's form of VEBA arose simultaneously with the development of industrial production in the 19th century. century. 1856 – Benedikt Schroll – mechanical weaving plant in Broumov-Olivetín, beginning of industrial textile production in Broumov 1861 – František Novotný – spinning mill and mechanical weaving mill in Broumov-Veľka Ves 1882 – Benedikt Schroll – cotton spinning mill in Medzimestí 1895 – Vilém Pelly – cotton spinning mill in Policajty nad Metují 1949 – The national enterprises VEBA Broumov and META Police nad Metují are established 1958 – Merger of VEBA and META into the national enterprise VEBA 1974-5 – Construction of the largest jacquard weaving factory in Czechoslovakia with Sulzer looms in the Olivětín weaving factory Joint-stock company VEBA Broumov was founded in 1992.
