Textilka Primona, Česká Třebová

The textile factory, known as Primona, was founded in 1849. Nine years later, Leopold Ábeles became its owner, who developed it with significant investments - a new steam boiler house, preparation and weaving mill were built. In 1882, the factory became the property of the Viennese company Hermann Pollack and Sons, which operated it until 1939. At the turn of the century, the factory experienced its best years, and fabrics were supplied to, for example, the English royal family. At the beginning of the sixties, a new heating plant was built, and in 1963 a massive brick chimney was built. The post-revolutionary period brings loss of sales and cheap Chinese competition. Primona a.s. in 2004 it fell.
