Hanfasser Geiselthal

Hanffaser Geiseltal eG is a new production cooperative factory for the processing of technical hemp in the Geiseltal region, following on from the successful cooperative factory Hanffaser Uckermark eG, which has already reached its capacity ceiling. Financing of the project is secured and production of hemp construction and insulation materials is scheduled to begin at the end of 2025. The goal of the cooperative is to build a new production facility for hemp construction and insulation materials, to support "raw material turnover" and to create a regional value chain in the vicinity of Geiseltal, where other related companies could be established. Local farmers have been growing industrial hemp in the region since spring 2022. The cooperative was founded on March 30, 2022 in the Saalekreis district and has nine founding members with professional (professorial) support.
