TFZ Bayern

Technologie- und Förderzentrum (TFZ) Bayern is a research and support center based in Straubing, which belongs to the Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forestry. TFZ specializes in applied research in the field of renewable raw materials and agriculture, aiming to develop technologies and methods for the efficient and sustainable use of plant crops and biomass. The center conducts field trials, tests new crops suitable for material and energy purposes, develops production processes for solid and liquid biomass processing and provides expert advice to farmers, businesses and state institutions. TFZ operates demonstration facilities and organizes training, spreading knowledge and innovation from research into practice. Its main areas of activity include the development of technologies for the production of biofuels, natural fibers and ecological building materials.
