THERMO NATUR / HemKor is a German company that produces ecological insulation and building materials from industrial hemp and jute fibers. Their production is located in Nördlingen (Bavaria), where thermal insulation in the form of mats, filling wool and needle felt are produced, while only natural fibers are used without harmful chemical additives. The company also offers interior surface building materials – such as wood-clay plasters, clay paints and building boards made of clay mixtures (“Lemix®”), which support a healthy indoor environment and breathability of walls. In 2020, THERMO HANF® became part of the HempFlax® group – specifically as a division of HempFlax Building Solutions GmbH, enabling the pioneering “field to finished material” model. Thanks to this integration, the company has direct access to raw hemp and ensures the sustainability of the supply chain. In terms of ecology, HemKor / THERMO NATUR emphasizes that hemp binds CO₂ for a long time during growth and plants grown without pesticides are used to produce the insulation. The production processes are designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible: customers can return used insulation materials for recycling - this is a closed cycle.
