FNR – Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e. V.

Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe (FNR) is a German agency focused on promoting research and development of renewable/renewable raw materials ("biogenic resources"). The main task of FNR is to manage and coordinate research, development and demonstration projects that support the economic and ecological use of renewable raw materials. In addition, it collects and makes available expert knowledge - through publications, reports and events - for scientific, industrial and public entities. FNR has an extensive portfolio of topics: it supports bioenergy, sustainable agriculture, use of wood and forest resources, biobase for materials and innovative use of biomass. It also manages project lines related to peatland protection, land management and energy efficiency. The agency also acts as a connector at European and international level – engaging in international research projects and policy networks related to the bioeconomy and sustainable raw materials.
