nova-Institut GmbH

nova‑Institut GmbH (nova‑Institute) is a German independent research and consultancy center focusing on sustainability, the new bioeconomy and circular carbon flows. The center of its activity is the transition of industry from fossil sources to "renewable carbon" — i.e. carbon obtained from biomass, CO₂ or recycling. In this framework, nova supports companies from the chemical, plastic and materials sector in the transformation of their value chains, helps with technologies, strategies and political analyses. The nova‑Inštitút team consists of dozens of experts (around 50) from various disciplines who are dedicated to research into renewable raw materials, technologies, market analyses, product life cycle analysis (LCA), policy advice and communication strategies. In 2024, the institute established the "Expert Group Biopolymers", which specializes in the biopolymer market, mass balance methodologies and sustainable polymers. nova‑Institut regularly organizes international conferences and workshops, for example the Renewable Materials Conference (RMC), where it brings together experts from industry, science and politics and discusses trends in the field of renewable materials and the circular economy. The company's philosophy is clear: through research, consulting and strategic partnerships, it helps the industry to achieve a climate-neutral future, minimize dependence on fossil carbon, and at the same time support innovative materials and technologies.
