FT TUL
FTTUL is a textile faculty within the Technical University of Liberec with headquarters in Liberec. It was founded in 1960 to provide higher education and professional development in textile fields — it is a unique institution of its kind in Europe with a wide scope. The faculty combines teaching, research and development in the textile field. It has several departments — among them, for example, technologies and structures of textiles, non-woven and nanofibrous materials, material engineering, clothing, design, evaluation of textiles and others. Thanks to this, FTTUL deals with the development of traditional and modern textile materials, processing technologies, structures, innovations in the field of functional, non-woven and nanofibrous materials, while educating future experts and designers. In addition to academic teaching, the faculty organizes research projects, seminars, conferences and summer schools focused on textiles, material science, technological innovations and design. Examples of research include, for example, the study of the release of microplastics from textiles — with which the faculty also responds to ecological and environmental challenges. FTTUL thus serves as a bridge between traditional textile craft and modern technologies — educating, innovating and contributing to the development of the textile industry and research in a wider framework.
