Tambour embroidery – an embroidery technique created by pulling thread through fabric into a chain-stitch line using a small hook or curved needle. Of Oriental origin, it spread especially in the Balkans and was adopted in Slovakia mainly around Bratislava, and in some regions was combined with eyelet embroidery.
