Drawn-thread work / Ažúr – an embroidery technique based on the partial removal of warp or weft threads from the fabric. The remaining threads are grouped, wrapped, or stitched to create transparent decorative patterns. In Slovak folk embroidery, it was used to decorate and strengthen the edges of linen garments and household textiles.
