dry spinning
Dry spinning is a synthetic fiber production technology in which a polymer is dissolved in a volatile organic solvent and then fibers are formed from the solution by evaporating the solvent in warm air
Main process steps: Solution preparation: The polymer (e.g. acetate, triacetate, some acrylic, modacrylic, spandex or vinyon polymers) is dissolved in a volatile organic solvent, creating a viscous solution suitable for spinning. The solution is filtered and fed into a spinning device that controls the flow and pressure for consistent extrusion. The solution is extruded through a spinneret - a nozzle with fine holes that determine the shape and diameter of the resulting fibers. The extruded fibers enter a heated chamber or drying tunnel, where the solvent is rapidly evaporated. This turns the polymer into a solid fiber. The finished fibers are wound onto bobbins or further processed according to the desired properties and end use
