fiberizing
Fibre formation is the process by which continuous or staple fibres are produced from natural, regenerated or synthetic raw materials. In the manufacture of man-made fibres, polymers are transformed into fibrous structures through spinning processes such as melt spinning, wet spinning, dry spinning or gel spinning. During fibre formation, the material undergoes extrusion through spinnerets, followed by solidification and orientation to achieve the desired mechanical and physical properties. The process determines fibre fineness, strength, elasticity and surface characteristics. Fibre formation is fundamental to the production of synthetic fibres such as polyester, polyamide and polypropylene, as well as regenerated cellulose fibres including viscose and lyocell.
