sanforization

Sanforization is a controlled pre-shrinking process used to improve the dimensional stability of woven and knitted fabrics. The textile is mechanically compressed under carefully controlled moisture and temperature conditions, minimizing shrinkage during subsequent laundering and use. The process is widely applied to cotton, linen, hemp and blended fabrics intended for apparel and home textiles.
