Drawing is a preparatory spinning process in which multiple fibre slivers are combined, drafted and parallelized by passing through sets of rollers operating at different speeds. The operation improves fibre alignment, reduces mass irregularities and produces a more uniform sliver for subsequent spinning processes. Drawing is a critical step in both natural and synthetic fibre processing.
