carding

Carding is a mechanical process used to open, clean, individualize and partially align fibres by passing them through rotating cylinders covered with fine wire teeth. The process transforms loose fibre masses into a continuous sliver suitable for further processing. Carding is considered one of the most important stages in spinning preparation and directly influences yarn quality.
