Cattle tail hair
Cattle hair – It was mixed into wool for coarser cloths used as blankets for horses and as material for sewing woolen footwear. Fabrics made from this mixture were also woven into heavier cloth used for floor coverings. Felted cattle hair, or cloth made from cow hair, was used in Prievidza as material for making insoles for slippers. Cow hair was also mixed with wool for felting hats by hat makers.
Long hair from cow tails was twisted into threads, which were then knitted using a needle into kušnice, used in oil pressing. The hair was obtained by purchasing it from slaughterhouses.
