NEBIH
The National Food Safety Authority (Nébih) was established on March 15, 2012. As a basic institution of the Ministry of Agriculture, the authority oversees compliance with food chain safety rules with national scope and fights against food counterfeiting and the black economy.
The office's mission is to protect and improve the safety of the Hungarian food chain from farm to table and also contributes to the customer's access to quality food. In addition, in addition to improving the effectiveness of traditional official measures, Nébih pays great attention to the collection, processing and sharing and communication of information resulting from inspections and investigations in a comprehensible manner.
The office considers it paramount that, in addition to professional interests, it always meets the expectations of the Hungarian population. It does this with its constantly improved laboratory network and the knowledge base of its experts with extensive expertise.
