Jozef Karahuta
The name of the Cipisek company originated from the nickname of the company owner and folk producer Jozef Karahuta, who primarily deals with folk art production from leather and metal. This once probably the youngest folk producer in Slovakia has been closely connected with folklore since his youth. He worked as a dancer in several folklore ensembles such as Dúbrava, Letka, Jánošík and Šarišan, where he began to meet elements of folk culture, as well as folk products themselves. His first steps in the field of folk art production began in 1990, during his mandatory military service, when he performed in the VSPT (Military Song and Dance Ensemble) Jánošík in Brno and where he and his friends wanted to make Bacchus pockets "like proper folklorists". They managed to realize this idea and used old leather mats to make them. Initially, this activity and hobby was not the center of his interest, nor his life goal, but later it became a daily occupation, work, and livelihood. It was also prompted by the first orders from friends and fellow dancers, which gave him initial motivation in this direction.
