Roma woven tape

A braid or tape with a ribbed (rips) weave made from yellow cotton yarn. Originally, such tapes were made from hemp and flax yarns in natural color, and later from colored cotton yarns. They were used to decorate sleeves, sewn onto skirts, aprons, traditional garments, shirts, and men’s shirts. Due to their strength, they were also used in agriculture and household activities for tying sacks, as suspenders, and for similar practical purposes.
