Wensleydale
It is a typical British longwool fibre from the Wensleydale sheep breed. The wool has fine, long, silky curls with a wavy structure and very little or no coarse kempy fibres. It is very strong, durable, and has excellent longevity, which makes it suitable for products exposed to higher wear. It is mainly used for hand spinning art yarns and decorative yarns, knitting and weaving luxury scarves, sweaters, shawls, and blankets, wet felting for decorations and dolls, wig making, and artistic textiles, as well as blending with other wools to increase the sheen and strength of the final products. It occurs in shades of white, black, and grey.
